With a stylish Blue & Brown on a natural grass base, this stunning dog basket will quickly become your smaller breed (Dachshund, Lhasa Apso, Miniature Poodle, Pug, Shih Tzu) of dog’s favourite place to bed down.

Woven from indigenous veta vera grasses in Northern Ghana - also known as Elephant Grass - each dog basket takes up to three days to weave by hand. The production process is lengthy: this Ghanaian grass is harvested, split, hand-rolled and dyed before a skilled weaver from our partner weaving cooperative in sets to work.

The majority of these weavers are men, having been taught the age-old art of basket weaving from their own mothers and fathers. Agricultural work is the mainstay of most weavers’ family incomes, but poor rainfall and drought makes life extremely challenging.

Holly McMullen, the CEO of The Basket Room, embarked on her journey into ethical African textiles while travelling the continent with her father in 2006. Six years later, while studying fashion design, she met co-founder Camilla Sutton, and the idea of The Basket Room was born.

International Delivery:

We ship worldwide for £20, depending on weight of parcel. Cost calculated in local currency at checkout.

Returns

We will accept returns within 14 days, providing the product is in a resalable condition and not used or damaged.

Buyer will be responsible for the return (tracked) postage costs.

Once we receive the item, we will perform quality checks and, all being in order, refund your account within a week.
