JARS Cantine Plate - Large

£19.00

Artisan French Ceramics from the Heart of Provence

Since 1857, JARS Céramistes has been crafting exceptional stoneware in Annot, a medieval village nestled in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. For over 160 years, this family-run atelier has preserved traditional French pottery techniques, creating pieces that honour both heritage and contemporary living.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Each Cantine plate is hand-glazed using natural stoneware clay, fired at high temperatures to create a non-porous, chip-resistant surface that improves with age. The signature glazes—developed through generations of experimentation—produce unique colour variations that make every piece subtly one-of-a-kind. The artisans at JARS apply each glaze by hand, ensuring the rich, lustrous finish that has become their hallmark.

Design Philosophy

The Cantine collection embodies the French art de vivre: simple, timeless forms designed for daily rituals and special gatherings alike. These plates are made to be used, loved, and passed down—heirloom-quality pieces that tell the story of countless meals shared with family and friends.

Sustainability & Longevity

JARS ceramics are crafted for a lifetime of use. The durable, natural stoneware resists chipping and staining, reducing the need for replacement. By choosing pieces made with traditional techniques and sustainable materials, you're investing in quality that endures—both practically and aesthetically.

Care Instructions

Dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. For best longevity, avoid thermal shock by allowing pieces to come to room temperature before heating. Hand washing will preserve the glaze's lustre over decades of use.
