How to Set a Beautiful Easter Table

How to Set a Beautiful Easter Table

We think that laying the table for Easter is one of spring’s loveliest rituals. From delicate pastel ceramics and pretty table linen to whimsical decorations, our selection of tableware will make your Easter table feel truly celebratory. Plus, if you’re the guest, discover our selection of gifts for your host.

A Palette of Soft Pastels
Soft pastels such as blush pink, fresh mint, butter yellow, powder blue or even warm terracotta like the Jars collection above are an easy route into Easter decorating. As well as being the colours of spring, the tones mix and match beautifully whether introduced through your plates, tumblers or even accessories such as a pepper grinder

The Art of Layering
A well-dressed table is all about texture and layers. Start with a linen tablecloth – whether you like yours starched and crisp or un-ironed and relaxed – nothing elevates a dining table from the everyday quite like linen.

Contrasting napkins add another level of texture, pattern or colour – or all three. Our collection of Charvet Editions’ 100% French linen tablecloths and napkins span the rustic and the delicate, whatever your personal taste.

To prevent the scheme from becoming too sugary ground it with warm natural materials such as Gone Rural’s woven placemats and coasters and weighty cutlery

Florals for Spring…
Flowers must take centre stage on any self-respecting Easter table. Cheerful daffodils, blousy tulips – buy them or pick them a few days in advance so they take on a loose, languid appearance – and jewel-like ranunculus always look wonderful when arranged casually in a central vase. Add height with a few stray blossom branches from the garden or some pussy willow from the florist and suspend a set of painted eggs from them to create a playful Easter centrepiece.

Thoughtful Details
Small touches make all the difference. Handwritten place cards and napkins tied with a sprig of rosemary or a ribbon in your chosen colour scheme, add a lovely personal touch. Candles in pretty pastel tones add to the sense of occasion, and it’s a great opportunity to make a statement with some whimsical candleholders. A scattering of boiled speckled quail eggs, and of course, a chocolate Easter egg for each guest and you’re all set.
